Welcome Tenderpads and Cubs a new year of Scouting!
REQUIREMENTS:
For the Tenderpad (new Cubs) you will need The Cub Book, Cub Shirt (buy it large you need it for 3 years), Red Sash (to sew on badges), Cub Belt (yellow), Note Book, Pen/Pencil and a quarter ($0.25). You can get an optional Cub Pouch to put on your belt.
We will be investing the new members in October where they will get their scarf and area badges.
The above items can be bought at the Scout Shop located at:

Sat 10-4PMTIMES:
The meetings run from 7-8:30 p.m. so please have you Cub to the meeting location by 6:55 p.m. at the latest. A Leaders should be there around 6:45 p.m.
DO NOT leave your Cub at the meeting with out checking to see if there are Leaders there. If there is not enough Leaders (1Leaders 6 Cubs) you will be asked to stay and assist with the program. If there are not enough Leaders your youth will be sent home!
COME IN to pick up your youth at the end of the meeting.WEBSITE and E-MAIL:
Our Scouting Group has a website at http://www.willowvalleyscouts.com which we will post newsletters and information about events through out the year. There is a contact area if you would like to e-mail the leaders and a CALANDER which will have all the activities listed on it.
We will also be using e-mail to keep you up to date through out the year.STAR PROGRAM:
This year we will be working towards our Purple Star Canada and the World plus the Green Star Outdoor Activity Area. So look in your Cub Book to see what the requirements are to accomplish these stars.FUND RAISING:
As Cub Scouts you will be going to interesting places out and around our community ie: Police Stations, Airports, Conservation Areas, Observatories and most importantly camping. To do these activities fundraising is needed.
The following events are required participation so we may reduce the costs associated with our outings:
APPLE DAY, POPCORN SALES and RAFFLE DRAW
COMMUNITY SPIRIT:
As members of the Scouting organization we promote involvement in our community. Here a few activities we will be supporting this year
Meals on Wheels Xmas craft for each meal.
Christmas Family Support a family in need with food cloths and toys.
Food Bank Most group events will have a food donation box available and the Cubs will assisting at a food bank location this spring.VOLUNTEERING:
We are always looking for parents to help us provide the Scouting program to your youth so please be willing to help out.PAPERWORK:
There will be lots of forms and newsletters to fill out and read. Make sure you look each night for sign up sheets, consent forms, etc usually on a table outside the gym door.If you have any questions, please dont hesitate to ask the Leaders.

Group Camp and Swim-up Ceremony June 17-19, 2005 at Woodland Trails
Summer Camp at Haliburton Scout Reserve August 20-27, 2005
This is a week long camp for 3rd year Cubs. Scouts and Ventures.
